“We are updating LinkedIn’s Terms of Service – our Privacy Policy and User Agreement. These updates to our terms will let us introduce new features while continuing to give you control over how your information is used,” said Sara Harrington, Vice President of Legal at LinkedIn, informed in an email. This update will be available from June 7, 2017.
In this Email, the goal of LinkedIn was told to increase the value members get out of LinkedIn but to LinkedIn also facilitate the users to opt_out of the new features if desired.
Increased visibility of LinkedIn Profile
Service partners will show members’ profile to their users, as profile shows up in search engines, so that the members are accessible for opportunities.
Easier to share achievements with your network
Positive and public professional accomplishments will be suggested , like new patents or publications, to add to your profile to make others can see.
In addition with it two more new features can make you choose to opt-in to
Productivity bots to improve communication with your network
To suggest responses in your messages, meetings, ice breaks, or insights automated system will be used to help you have important conversations more easily
Easily meet up with other members:
It’s easier to meet up when a member is at a conference or out for lunch, because LinkedIn enables you to see nearby members who have opted_in.
LinkedIn also facilitate the members to get opt _out the specific new features instead of closing the account , if they don’t agree to the new terms.
It is also reported that LinkedIn is now a part of Microsoft, but still its services are being provided under separate Terms of Service.
