Well it would be safe to say that cricket is a game which brings nations together, be it on the cricket field, the stadium or outside of it inside homes and on social media platforms. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Bajwa and DG ISPR (Inter services Public Relations) Maj Gen. Asif Ghafoor were present at the crucial Pakistan vs South Africa match, a match where if any of the two teams lost, would officially lose out on gaining a spot in the semi-finals of the ICC cricket World Cup 2019. The match between the two teams was held at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium in London. It is worth mentioning here that a very notable personality was also present along with the two Generals of Pakistan.
The British Foreign Secretary, Mr. Jeremy Hunt was seen sitting along with the COAS and the DG ISPR, as they watched the two teams go head to head, with all of the personalities seen enjoying the game. Pakistan needed the two points to stay in the game and thankfully they did not let us down, as they went on to win the game. Moreover, it is worth noting that the COAS is in UK on an official Military visit with other British Military Generals. The day before the match the match, the COAS, Pakistan met with his counter-part the Chief of Defence Staff, United Kingdom, Sir Nick Carter on Monday.

According to the Pakistan Army’s Media department, that a session of delegation level strategic dialogue was held between the two countries, something which can be seen to strengthen military ties between the two nations. On Saturday, the COAS also spoke at the the International Institute of Strategic Studies in the city of London, where the General mentioned that Pakistan is on the tip of achieving a sustainable, irreversible, enduring peace and stability and he further said that “Improving security situation would attract foreign investment in Pakistan,”. He made it clear that in order to attract any investors it is necessary that the country achieves stability in their security.
