The developer of the robot and iFlytek Co Ltd which is the leading Chinese Artificial Intelligence company said the robot has an ability to assist with clinical diagnosis and outpatient treatment.
But the robot has not been launched officially by the Chinese company and the launch of this robot is due in March 2018. As Liu Qingfeng chairman iFlytek says,
“We will officially launch the robot in March next year,”.
But doctors should not be scared of loosing their jobs because the robot is not going to take their seats. And the reports state that,
“It is not meant to replace doctors. Instead, it is to promote better people-machine cooperation to boost efficiency.”
So, we can expect a very pleasant welcome to this robot from around the world because there is no reason for any class either doctors or patients to refuse the assistance from the robo.
iFlytek is now conducting a pilot project with Anhui Provincial Hospital of China to see how the robot can help doctors in real medical cases, including researching cancer as well as training general practitioners.
Qingfeng said,
“General practitioners are in severe shortage in China’s rural areas so we hope the robot can help more people access quality medical resources,”.
On Wednesday, The company succeeded to become a member of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) alliance set up by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Chinese Academy of Sciences promotes the research of basic sciences and the application of the technology.
