Shaheen Bagh, near Jamia Millia Islamia becomes the epicenter of the Indian protestors and their resistance against CAA and NRC. JMI, which was attacked by the Delhi Police earlier, fetched condemnations from not only in India, but across the world.
The diversity and various faiths could not keep Indian people coming together to show their solidarity with the victims of the protests, also they became the resolute resistant power against BJP rule. Harsh weather, strong chilly winds and cold nights can not seem to break the bond, which is developing in the neighborhood.
The sky is echoing with chants, and the neighborhood of Shaheen Bagh is jam packed with thousands, chanting slogans, reciting verses and quoting Geeta, Bible and singing Kirtan – Sikh traditional religious hymes – at the center of Shaheen Bagh making it the biggest symbol of inter-faith harmony in India for only cause, to revoke CAA and maintain status-quo.

Shashi Tharor, the senior Congress leader visited Shaheen Bagh, which is now inflated from few hundred protestors to thousands.
The MP during his address said, “You are an inspiration to every democrat in the country. We stand with you, we stand with the courage you have shown. We stand with spirit and the faith you have in the Indian constitution. This is a fight for everybody,”
The aged women who are blowing new spirit in the ongoing protest at Shaheen Bagh, were lauded by the Congress MP Sashi Tharor. “It was fabulous to see the courage, passion & determination of the women of Shaheen Bagh. Including the nonagenarian ‘dadis’ who have held a fast since the start. Addressed them all with great admiration.” Said Tharor.
The protesters, who are united against hatred, growing intolerance in India and hardcore chauvinism are displaying what it means to be a diverse culture. The rage of BJP is not only against Muslim, but they seem to be going after everyone who somehow gathers courage to defy the ruling government.
However, it is indeed now a fact, the secular Indian ideology, upon which once the likes of Mahatma Gandhi stood, is now history. The India, now the world is getting to know, has come a long way from social secularism to nationalistic fanaticism.
