After a little bit of modification to the Bugatti Chiron, it was all set to break the 300MPH barrier and that it did with some style! Bugatti has been the hypercar king for quite some time now and it showed again why its still the boss in the car category. The speed of 304.77 miles per hour was achieved on the Volkswagen Ehra Lessien test track in Germany and was confirmed by TUV, the technical inspection association of Germany. The record that its shattered was that of the Koenigsegg which held its own at 284 mph.
Thinking about the possibility of modifying a car like the Chiron is in itself very unbelievable and the thought of the engineering feats that the people have achieved is just mind blowing! All the engineers involved in achieving this great feat, people from Bigwigs, Bugatti, Michelin and Dallara all came together to get the best out of the car and make it capable enough to survive at high speeds and that included the aerodynamics, the suspension, the tyres, everything! The President of Bugatti was truly proud in his statement:

Bugatti has once again shown what it’s capable of. With this new record of the Chiron, we enter again uncharted territory. Never before has a series manufacturer reached this high speed. Our goal was to be the first manufacturer ever to reach the magic 300mph mark. We have now achieved this – making ourselves, the entire team and myself, incredibly proud. With this record, Bugatti will also withdraw from the competition to produce the fastest serial production cars. We have shown several times that we build the fastest cars in the world. In future, we will focus on other areas.
Its worth mentioning that Bugatti is owned by the Volkswagen group which also own Lamborghini and Bentley!
