Apple is soon launching iOS 10.3 probably at the end of March 2017. It will surely come with new features and updates. This update includes a change in the current file system. According to ZDnet, this includes “optimization for the storage, storage encryption, better file time stamping and many storage saving improvements.” So it is better to make sure that all the data in the phone is backed up before installing the new update. Chances are less that any data will be lost after the update but it’s better to be on a safer side than facing the loss of the data.
Ways to backup data in iPhone
There are mainly two ways to back up an iPhone. First one is to back-up through PC using i-Tune. The second one is to back-up to i-Cloud. Most people use the i-Cloud to back-up their data but the former one is more quick, complete and reliable.
Backing up to i-Tunes
Step 1: first, the iPhone should be connected to the PC via USB cord.
Step 2: if the PC is set to auto-sync, the back-up will start automatically. If it’s not set to auto-sync next step will help you.
Step 3: agree to the “Trust this Computer” message. In i-Tunes, click the phone button. Then in the backup folder, click on Back-up now. It’s done. You may also want to encrypt the back-up. This will give you a password for the encrypted data.. make sure you write this down somewhere safe or remember it for you may need it someday.
Backing up to i-Cloud
Step 1: First of all, make sure that your mobile is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Step 2: In the settings icon, tap on i-Cloud
Step 3: In the back-up option, click on Back-up now. This may take few seconds or a while depending on how long you haven’t backup up your phone.
Step 4: make sure that the data is backed up successfully. Go to Settings > i-Clouds > Storage > Manage Storage
These are the simple steps of backing up the iPhone. Now the data won’t get lost and you can enjoy the new features and updates of iOS 10.3
