Asus has very recently launched the Vivobook, with very impressive specs, at a relatively small price of $700. The Vivobook S, S510 features a seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor and runs the latest OS, the Windows 10. The design of the device is very unique, and it is designed to look much like the MacBook Air. The laptop weighs very less, coming at only 3.3 pounds, and if you think that’s impressive, then consider the fact that it has a 7.8mm-thick bezel.
If you’re wondering what the specs are, then the device features a 15.6 full HD 1920 x 1280 display, having either Intel Core i7-7500U or i7-7200U processor, the latter depending upon the model of the device. The device consists of 8GB RAM and has ports that ranging from USB-C, USB Type-A, USB 2.0, HDMI, to an obvious headphone jack. The storage is up to 1 TB, and this also depends on the model. An SD card reader is also included.
The device starts at $699, and goes up to $799, the heftier price tag accounting for not only a better processor but also more storage.
Asus debuted its Vivobook S line earlier this year at Computex. Most critics have found the screen to be a little below par, but considering the price for the device, i think the below par screen would not seem to be that big a problem. The problem of the screen would not seem that big especially when you consider not only the comparatively cheaper price but also the weight of the device.
