This is the age of Artificial Intelligence and we are living in the realm of technology, where Google the giant is irresistible because this very AI does a lot for me.
You must have listened or probably talked about the AI mentioned above. But actually, Google is not AI, even that the same case is with Siri and Alexa. All these are the machines that have been taught certain things to understand and to respond certain things.
We people take this automatic understanding of certain things by the machines as Artificial Intelligence, but actually, we are wrong here. Intelligence makes us self-aware, that is not found in these machines.
However, being machines, not Artificial Intelligence, Alexa has opened its platform in order to create the skills of other parties to make them learn about Alexa while Google has hired comedians to improve the way its assistant interacts with humans, and the Google assistant will be found in Home and Allo.
The age of AI:
Today, use of AI is increasing in every field of life and we see its role in insurance companies where it is increasing profits through payout calculation.
The arrival of AI in this field have removed lot many positions as we see in Fukoku Mutual Life Insurance company in Japan, where AI caused the removal of more than 30 positions in payout calculations department.
Chicago police will also avail AI to monitor their body cams for missing people, while Facebook, Instagram, and messenger are also powered by AI every time people use them.
Above all, if I say that you “buy a car and the car will suggest you what to buy” my point of AI will be clear.
AI is about to take our jobs. If Artificial Intelligence based robots and machines are doing something good for a person they are also doing something bad, but not in all cases. If it is increasing profits through payout calculations in insurance companies, it is also causing unemployment for several people. If it does something more quickly, it also causes a shocking range of unemployed people.
Is AI good or bad:
Different people take it in different ways and it is being used differently in different cases, so to call it totally good or totally bad will be unfair.
AI is going to be our most sincere friend, as it will have eyes and ears to watch the danger around us. You can take fire alarm as an instance, its built in camera watches fire, and smoke sensors detect the danger. So quick response we get due to AI that saves our lives like a friend.
However, I think the intelligence we are talking about is a Foe more than a friend. How?
Because the fire alarm does not go every where with us, it does only detect the danger of fire, it will never insist me to avoid going to the beach because some danger is possible there.
But the thing that makes it more than a friend is “it will take my job” leaving a negative impact on all aspects of my life.
I am so glad to think about the artificially intelligent vehicles. Because they will keep me aware of the oncoming vehicles to save my life, but what would I do with the life that will not provide me an opportunity to earn?
Hopefully, you will suggest me to choose the field of Artificial Intelligence, where I will be working to make other advancements. But dear! is not it possible that robots will manufacture the robots and AI will become self-aware to the extent of the destruction of human beings?
