Apple today released iOS 12.1.2, a minor update that exterminates some bugs for iPhone users. According to the change list, the update takes care of an issue thatprevents some users from activating the eSIM inside their iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max or iPhone XR. Once activated, the embedded eSIM combines with the regularSIM card slot to provide dual-SIM functionality for these models. That meansthat users if they wish, can have two separate lines on their iPhone (imagineone for home and the other for business).

The change list also mentions a bug fix for an issue that prevents an unknown number of 2018 iPhone owners in Turkey from connecting to their wireless provider. You might recall that after iOS 12.1.1 was disseminated earlier this month, several iPhone users said that they had limited or no cellular connectivity on their phone. Some could only use their handset with a Wi-Fi connection. Based on the iOS 12.1.2 change list, this apparently took place in Turkey even though initial reports said that the cellular connectivity bug was affecting iPhone units in several countries.

The update weighs in at a hefty 418.5MB and is being sent out in waves OTA. If you’re the impatient type, you can try to manually update your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings > General > Software update. If the latest iOS build has arrived on your device, there are two things you need to do before starting the updating process. One, make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi signal, or have a strong cellular connection (those in Turkey should forget the latter and concentrate on the former). And you should have your battery fully recharged. Once those two tasks are completed, go ahead and install iOS 12.1.2 on your iOS flavoured device.
