Apple has already started production of next generation A12 chips for iPhones

Apple has already started production of next generation A12 chips for iPhones. Recently a report revealed that Apple has already started the process of manufacturing the next generation of iPhones. According to the latest report, production has already been started in March 2018. This time the plan is to change iPhone line up and introduce three new models.

We are getting many hot leaks about the upcoming iPhone SE 2, the cheapest iPhone ever. So, let’s see what does become of it?

Apple is developing its new A12 chip which is said to be more efficient than the chip used in the current flagships of Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus. Moreover, it will be sized 7-nanometer for faster speed than the 10-nanometer chip used in current devices.

Taiwan Semiconductor is developing these chips as Apple has outsourced the manufacturing of its latest iPhone to them.

The new A12 chip will act as catalyst for Apple devices. With new chip the apps will run fasters and consume very less power. Well, we have heard that they are quite power efficient as well.

On the other hand, new hardware will definitely help Apple in various ways such as longer replacement rates of battery problems in iPhones.

Despite all the battery issues, Apple has managed to produce the good revenue in the first quarter of 2018 as the revenue from iPhones was up about $5 billion year-over-year, going from $33 billion to $38 billion in 2018.

Even though, the number of iPhones sold merely increased from 51 million to 52 million in 2018, but it means that Apple is generating notably more money per iPhone than it was last year.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO also confirmed this and said,

“Customers chose iPhone X more than any other iPhone each week in the March quarter, just as they did following its launch in the December quarter, I could not be prouder of the product.”
