So one of the leading names when it comes to CPU, GPUs and APUs in the technology world would definitely be AMD who have established a pretty decent brand profile by providing there goods. In the now, it has been found that the company will be holding a launch event at the next Consumer Electronics Show (CES), where the company have promised to push the limits of high-end computing and to develop new and intuitive technology.
It should be noted that 2019 was seemingly a pretty good year for the American company. AMD were able to shift all of their GPU and CPU lineups and hence converted them in to 7nm process technology. The company offered a whole bunch of new products, including 3rd Gen Ryzen and Ryzen Threadripper CPUs, RX 5000 mobility and desktop GPUs and of course the 2nd Generation EPYC Rome server chips. Now it has been found that AMD are planning to take this forward in what seems to be another major step in 2020, and there is a list of new AMD products to expect at the CES 2020.

On of these products is the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X which is expected to make its debut at the central stage of CES 2020. It is believed that this technology advance will be the world’s first consumer-grade 64 core CPU which will have 128 threads, 288 MB of cache, and numerous PCIe lanes. In addition to that, it is expected that there may also be a lighter variant dubbed the 3980x which has in it 48 core and 96 threads which may potentially make Intel’s Xeon W-3175X obsolete.
In addition, there is also the possibility of one product which may also show up at the CES 2020, this would be the RX 5600 XT GPU lineup. It will have the same amount of cores as the standard as the RX 5700 but with better clock speeds and VRAM capacity. Its not just limited to GPUs though, AMD is also expected to unveil the Ryzen 4000 Renoir APU which is an APU that will be based on the 7nm process technology. This will result in significant performance improvement over the Ryzen 3000 mobile processors with higher clock speeds and better GPU performance.
The company’s OEM partners such as Lenovo, Asus, HP, Dell, etc. are expected to announce high-end laptops powered by AMD APUs alongside the chips’ announcement. AMD’s press conference will be live-streamed on Monday, January 6th, and we expect to hear more as the launch date draws near.
