So Xiaomi have created some pretty nice smartwatches over the years, now this year the company loooks ready to launch the new version of the Amazfit series, the Amazfit Verge 2is one of the new smartwatches Xiaomi released a few weeks ago in China. The watch has a very unique design which is totally different from that of the predecessor model and also comes with a few new features such as an eSIM and an ECG sensor which are somepretty nice features considering that it is only a smartwatch.
The Amazfit Verge 2 has been seen on the websitewhich is a Bluetooth SIG website which points at a global release soon. The watch has been certified on Tuesday, June 18, and according to the listing the new product has been namedas the “Amazfit Smart Watch 2” but we are pretty sure that this is actoually the Verge 2 because the name which has been posted on the Chinese website litreallytranslates as the “Smart Watch 2”. The Chinese name of the original Verge and the new Verge Lite also translate to “Smart Watch” and “Smart Watch Youth Edition respectively.

It shouldbe noted that when the Verge 2 launches globally, it will definitelytake on the new Apple Watch Series 4. The new Verge Watch has been priced at $189 for the ECG version while the non-ECG model has a price tag of (~$145). That is significantly cheaper than the Apple Watch Series 4 which starts pricing at $399.
The Amazfit Verge 2 comes packedwith a 1.39-inch AMOLED display coupled along the 454 x 454 resolution and a retina-grade PPI of 326 housed in a microcrystalline zirconium ceramic frame. The new device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2500, the RAM of thedevice has been measured at 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. The new watch also supports aneSIM which means that users can nowthere phones at home and still be able to recieve calls and messages. The Amazfit Verge 2 also has NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, an IP68 rating, and a 420mAh battery.
