So one of the most famous and senior actors in the TV Drama and Film actor Syed Jamal Shah has just now retired from his post as the Director General of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts. He has remained on the dedicated post for for three years in a tenure that ended two days ago on the September 22nd was the last day of his service.
Jamal Shah, Pakistani actor, director, painter, social worker, scriptwriter, singer, songwriter. He was born into a Pashtun Syed family in 1956 in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. In 1992 Jamal made his acting debut in K2, directed by Franc Roddam and since then in many other movies and dramas.Jamal Shah also created Artists Association in Pakistan. It was one of its kind for the artists, it was founded in 1985 and this in turn benefited many artists around the country. Jamal Shah is one of the few artists in Pakistan who have achieved their education in the very same field as the one they have worked in.

Jamal Shah also laid the foundation for Hunerkada – the stepping stone for many future artists. He polishes them with the greatest of teachers and the best of environment. Jamal Shah envisions Pakistan to be in the top country lists for performing arts.
Furthermore the amount of work the great man has done for the entertainment industry of Pakistan can not and will not be forgotten.After the retirement, the senior joint secretary of the Heritage Division Syed Hassan Mehndi ha been assigned with the charge of being the DG PNCA.Now that the Jamal Shah is done and dusted from this seat and has enjoyed a very good tenure in his time as the Director General,he will now once again go back to the institution he himself established and owns which is known as the “ShehrKkada” where he will look to promote arts from the private sector. His achievements at the post will not be forgotten and we wish the Jamal Shah a happy retirement.
