We all are aware that during the past couple of months, Apple has faced lots of issues over its battery performance choking concern and charge of dozens of class action lawsuits in the US and outside added fuel to the fire.
To the matter of fact, the Cupertino based tech giant has been helpless to deal the situation in the approved manner.
Now the company claims that the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X might not have to considerably slow down their processors as their batteries age to evade accidental shutdowns.
Last week, when Apple came under scrutiny again in the US Justice Dept. and SEC started the inquiry over performance throttling in older models of iPhones.
In the meantime, Senate committee investigation is also in progress, where Senator John Thune (R-SD) has inquired some questions from Apple administration. In response, Cupertino tech has answered to some of the questions of the senator.
Apple states that the latest models have “hardware updates” that offer better performance management in the first place.

In a letter replying to questions from Senator, Apple stated,
“[The] iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X models use a more advanced hardware and software design that provides a more accurate estimation of both power needs and the battery’s power capability to maximize overall system performance. This allows a different performance management system that more precisely allows iOS to anticipate and avoid an unexpected shutdown.”
“As a result, the impacts of performance management may be less noticeable on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. Over time, the rechargeable batteries in all iPhone models will diminish in their capacity and peak performance and will eventually need to be replaced.” Apple added.
From the above mentioned declaration we can expect that Apple won’t bring in any type of software update for newer iPhone models, to deliberately slow them down.
However, this appears to be a sensible step for the Cupertino giant to take at this critical time.
To remind you, Apple introduced a $29 battery replacement to compensate the problem that will speed up the things again. And interestingly that program also didn’t end.
It is important to mention here that so far, two of the iPhones caught fire while getting battery replacement at two individual Apple’s stores.
Furthermore, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has also announced a software update which will facilitate iPhone owners to keep an eye on the health of the battery.
