As per the reports, these accounts were used to channel funds – funds which were attained via kickbacks. The head of JIT, Ahsan Sadiq revealed in a report that since several accounts were opened for some brief time, it was revealed that such accounts belonged to rickshaw drivers, and also falooda vendors, amongst the other poor population of Pakistan. The accounts however, led to a smooth deactivation, as soon as the transfer of the money had taken place.
The head of the JIT also took this opportunity to complain to the court about the fact that the provincial government hasn’t made any attempt to cooperate with his team. To name a few, he made a statement that the chief secretary of Sindh, the agricultural secretary, and the irrigation secretary too had made no attempt to cooperate with his team.
Expressing his utmost displeasure over the issue, the chief Justice assured the head that the apex court will indeed proceed on the issue by summoning all these officials.
