The users of faulty Google Nexus 6P who had participated in the on-going lawsuit may be entitled to up to $400, as both Google and Huawei seemed to have agreed for a settlement. Pending the court approval, both the companies would be liable to a settlement worth a substantial $9.75 million for the class action lawsuit which had begun two years ago – in April 2017.
The lawsuit states that Google, who contracted both the design along with the manufacturing of its Android smartphone to the third-party company, Huawei, had breached the warranty since the company was aware of the issue at hand with the phones, however, did not actually respond with a fix, and instead of this, both the companies kept on selling the faulty devices, not even acknowledging the issue.

The major issue at hand was the boot looping issue, which caused the phone to shut down randomly, irrespective of the battery percentage the phone was on. If the court proceeds in approving the settlement, then the users of the Nexus 6P who had purchased the device on or indeed after the 25th of September, 2015, will indeed be eligible to claim reimbursement.
On the 9th of May, the next hearing for the case will take place. In accordance to the settlement proposal, those who end up being eligible for the settlement could receive up to $400, while on the other hand, those who had received a Pixel XL smartphone in the warranty exchange program could only be eligible for up to $10 in reimbursement.
The ones who will submit proper documentation for the bug will be eligible for ending up with the most settlement money, while those who don’t provide relevant or sufficient documentation will be eligible for up to $75.
