14th August, for other nations it would merely just a date on the calendar but for the Pakistani nation, it is beyond to just a date. It’s the date when my homeland appeared on the world map on the blessed night of 27th of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, analogous to 14th August, 1947.
Pakistan! my identity my homeland
“Identity that is the biggest thing one can think, without it you are nothing”
In the screen of my mind, Pakistan does not merely have the status of a nation; it is a true feeling that dwells in my heart. The love and passion of Pakistan flows in my blood. It gives me an identity, it is my home and this is something I can’t state for any other country. Yes, I am Pakistani!
By the word Pakistan, I don’t mean just ‘a portion of land’ but the people of Pakistan. Just as a university is recognized by its students, a country is also known for the spirit of its citizens. While this amazing land gives us with opportunities to grow and flourish, it all depends on us, the nation of Pakistan, how we make use of the opportunities and symbolize our country. We need to be civilized, peaceful, honest, hardworking and sincere; then our country will be praised and recognized as such.”
The core celebrations of this day are flag hoisting, singing patriotic songs, paying tributes to the real national heroes and cultural activities. The significance of this day lies in paying honor to the lost heroes and in elevating the hopes for a passionate and hopeful future. All children and elder feel joyful and filled with sensation on this day. They partake in different national events and express their deep feelings for the motherland.
Being Muslims we’ve our own traditions, values, and belief. We are so lucky to have a free state where we can perform all these activities with no fear.
I have been seeing people in Pakistan mistreating Pakistan as a failed state and system. They are so eager to gain immigration of developed country. Giving up is shaping as a normal in our culture and we are overconfident to live with blue or red passports. Realize the truth that our time is not good but there would be no one who can make this beautiful land so flourishing other than us.
Amidst the continuous spell of terrible news, stories of bloodshed and frequent breakdown of the government, the Pakistani Nation struggles on several fronts even with being a territory of opportunities. One of these tests is the negative image of the country which keeps intensifying with every passing day, grudging Pakistanis of any confidence in the land, adding to their aggravation and withdrawing their aspiration to add value as active citizens.
People might relate this stuff crazy or emotional but I know this is the genuine rational and this is the base of new Pakistan that the youth of our time shall put up (InshaAllah) by giving any forfeit that time will ask from us. When love, passion, and guts are there so there is no lack of constructive possibilities; we must have these three for Pakistan and then see the transform widespread.
Being a Pakistani we should celebrate 14th August by showing gratitude to Almighty Allah for awarding this native soil after massive sacrifices.
